Catherine Deveny – Love Party.

I had the most amazing time doing Catherine Deveny’s bridal hair for her wedding! I was also lucky enough and very honored  to be asked to attend.

She is such a friendly and warm and interested person, so on the day she was very excited and relaxed.

Catherine is also very interested in the process of the hair styling, which always makes it so much more fun because you have someone interested in your work and why your doing it.

We wanted a modern and sexy take on the marcel wave. Catherine has quite fine hair so I prepared her hair with very thorough washing and blowdrying using a maximizing mousse.

Using my wonderful Babyliss tong, the smallest one I have! I curled, and pin curled her hair and then left it to set while she had her makeup done.

Combing it out and seeing all of the curl and volume was so much fun! Brushing her hair style into place was really meditative because it all just flowed and worked very well.

I truly believe that at times like this, the energy and relationship between client and hairdresser it a very important part of the final result of the hair.

The photos below are if Catherine Deveny’s hairstyle, me meeting the wonderful Fiona Patten from the Australian Sex Party and balloons from outside of El Mirage on Lygon St Brunswick East where they held the reception.

It is important to also note that Catherine Deveny’s wedding and ceremony to Anthony was a celebration of love, a love party, which celebrated the importance of love without the useless input of religion or government.
